The Day Before Last Ship Voyage's Day
We'll be arriving on the fifth continent tomorrow.
Spending an entire half of a month on a ship proved to be boring.
Magic beasts would sometimes come out assaulting the ship but they were nothing more than ones of the only few recreational activity we had by now.
We got off once on a relay island to resupply and stuff.
I used Fast Travel to pay Gen's Workshop a visit, explaining our situation and Oni-sensei, who was in a bad mood since I had been missing for one week, to hand over some meat and crab dishes.
I had to go off contact again for another week so I left him with plenty of long-lasting processed food like dried jerky and stuff but judging from his the way he scarfed it down, he'd likely eat it all up in one day...
"Target-hitting game is fun and all, but anybody's gonna get tired playing the same thing every day."
"Kajikawa-san always comes dead last anyway, why bother."
"I'm not bothered, I swear, dangit."
"You were going so wild during the scuffle with that giant crab, yet you're surprisingly weak at this kind of games huh."
Red Axe-san, Hyumlassa spoke while throwing her dart-ball.
She's been joining us in games and training ever since we beat back those magic beasts together.
There's a lot to learn from a senior twice, thrice our levels. She's made a huge impact on Alma and Reina especially.
"You're super bad at this, I mean I get it's due to lack of Throwing Skill."
"I'm actually trying my best here..."
"Then how about you do the exact opposite and go carefree? Who knows it might just work."
"Ooh just you wait, dangit. You asked for it, carefree it is. Heyyyyy...."
"...That's a really slow-moving throw."
"There's carefree, and then there's this."
"Yyyyy..."
The stupidly slowly thrown dart-ball is making its sweet sweet time advancing ahead.
I.E. it's just a mana coated dart-ball controlled to move slowly.
"What the!? No no no, how is it going so slow!?"
"It's cuz I totally lacked the enthusiasm."
"That explained zilch! It's flying even slower than the average walking pace!? How's it not falling!"
Red Axe-san retorted with a perplexed look.
Guess this reaction is normal for someone who doesn't know Mana Control.
"Okay I'll reveal the trick, it was thanks to enchanted ring that makes everything its user throws move super slow. It's a one-time use failed creation of a prank object."
"O-oh really? But wait, can't you use that thing to create a barrage of slow-moving throwing weapons?"
"Too bad. The affected object drops down the moment it hits an obstacle, it's unsuited for battles."
"That ring is useless..."
Telling the truth is just gonna complicate things thus I decided to lie about some random enchant on my ring.
I'm being dishonest here but it's not hurting anyone so please let it slide... Okay yeah, shouldn't have done it in the first place then.

"Today is the end of our ship voyage huh. The first few days were really boring but it went by so fast once I joined you guys to jabber on and train."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"I've learned a lot from training with Hyula-san too!"
"Ahaha. Frankly, you guys are way strong for Lv30s. I ain't planning to lose yet though."
"I won't lose either if we meet at the tournament."
"Ah, that's gonna be difficult. Think that tournament got separate ranks for Apprentice, Mid-level and Advanced-level Jobs."
"Understandable, or else the younger ones are just gonna get decimated by Advanced jobs."
"The fact that each ranks got their own prize pool tells you how generous Firie Kingdom is. Though it's probably part of the marketing campaign to attract spectators."
That means my participation was never guaranteed with my unidentifiable Job. I wasn't going to enter anyway though.
To be perfectly honest, I'm worried about Alma and Reina end up standing out too much and luring in oddballs trying to scout them, but well I can always use Fast Travel to escape, I guess.
"...By the way, don't think I've sparred with you yet, wanna have a go on this final day?"
"No, I'd rather you spar with Alma or Reina..."
"Hikaru should practice too once in a while. You haven't done a single sparring match lately."
"Sparring with Hyula-san made me discover sooo many stuff! Kajikawa-san, you should give it a try too!"
"...Right... Well, why don't we head to the training ground?"
"Oh, ya finally up for it huh? Oh man, can't wait, leader-kun."
Uh well, it's not like I'm against it.
I mean I have my practice matches with Oni-sensei... Though those all ended in seconds and me getting blown away. I guess practicing with someone with relatively equal Attributes is a good experience to have.
"Ah, my dart ball finally fell down."
"Just now!? Wait it was still in the air all this time!?"
Despite her barbarian looks, she's a pretty good punch liner, I like her.
There are other combatants practicing in the training ground.
Push-ups, sit-ups, running, all kinds of basic training I usually do at night.
Sparring in public is kinda embarrassing...
Wait Red Axe-san, what are you doing with that axe?
"Come, let's do this."
"...Are we using weapons?"
"Is there a problem? You can't be telling me you're scared now, yea?"
"Err, there's a lot of complications with my weapon... Here, see for yourself."
I took Great Explosion Hammer out of Item Screen through a bag.
Then the floor where I stood started making a creaking sound.
"What's with that scary sound from under your feet..."
"This weapon is so heavy the floor is probably going to give in if I step on it."
"Lemme have that for a bit... Whoa, so, heavy...!? Y-you were seriously swinging around this thing?"
Despite what she said Red Axe-san managed to barely lift it up with her base specs. She's amazing.
And I mean I can't even swing this thing without Energy Control, of course she'd find it heavy.
"As you can see, I'd prefer if we fought bare handed."
"...Got it. Oh man, that means I gotta fight you without the Agility buff from my weapon. Kinda harsh."
Eh, I don't think so, I mean I got no Martial Art or Kempo Skills.
By the way, Red Axe-san's got Kempo Skill Lv8. She's trained in both axe and bare handed fighting.
It's been a while since my last sparring with anyone other than Oni-sensei. I'll take everything that I can learn from her, no exceptions.
I wanna see Kempo Skill Abilities... Oni-sensei never used one.
