In short! I'll swiftly get there and search its body while keeping Repulsion active on me!

Haahaahaa, always with the cannonball plan. I'd better start devising magic with better utility next time...

Alright, now that it's decided, time to move out. CLAP, I fired myself up by clapping my cheeks.

With Space Grasp permanently active, I grasp our positions. Deploying Repulsion, defense all green. With [<<Air Thruster>>] active outside Repulsion sphere, I'm approaching the High Kraken at high speed. Umu, it's like jet ski. This is so fun, oh keep that a secret.

As for the High Kraken... Oh, it's in the middle of eating something, ignoring me. It probably won't ever be satiated no matter how much it eats. I circle around while dodging its reflexive tentacle attacks.

I could feel something slightly weird. Trusting my intuition, I search the spot and... Bingo!
What the heck's that thing!? So gross. A 50cm big amoeba-like something that's both yellow and golden colored. It's sticking on the area near the High Kraken's respiratory organs.

From the few readable words, it seems to be a parasitic slime mold? The meat wall it's sticking on does looks like it's been assimilated a bit.

Hmm, I'm scared it'd get to me if I touch it carelessly. What should we do here...

Parasitic mold! Mold. Won't that work then? And  as a bonus, I wouldn't have to touch it if it destroyed itself.

After some prepping, I tried to turn Mana Clad into tentacle shape and extend it out. Umu, it moves better than expected. And now to pour magic in it.
I approach High Kraken's respiratory organs while dodging its tentacle assault. It's gonna get all tangled up. Would be nice if it did, just gotta extend mine then.

SHUAAA, the High Kraken turned its attention toward me as it ran around in the sea. At the same time, my son, I mean my mana tentacle is getting closer to its respiratory organs. Gotta be extra careful here.

Then I stretch out my tentacle at the parasitic mold... Hit!
The parasitic mold sticks itself to my tentacle. Ha told ya so, it's really sucking up my mana. Poison included though!


Whoa, it's sucking up so greedily. This could mean trouble if it proved ineffective.


The parasitic mold eventually slowed down its sucking. It's writhing agonizingly instead now.
Its body is withering down like a dead branch from end to end before eventually falling off High Kraken.

Aw yeah, it went well.
I had piped through Poison Mist from within the mana tentacle there. And as a final blow, I also tried putting on Mold Destroyer title, and it was a huge success.
Back when this title made a mess of my bread dough, it affected stuff that I didn't touch directly so I was wondering if the mold destroying effect extends to my mana itself.

Once the parasitic mold is gone, the High Kraken is standing by calmly inside the sea like it was all a lie. Ah, that's Uzume next to it, she must be explaining things.
Then, I'll go ahead and heal High Kraken with High Heal. It appeared surprised at the sudden magic, but once it realized it was getting healed, its tentacles started swaying around in jolly.

Once they finished discussing (?), the High Kraken seemed awfully distraught at the fact that it was causing trouble to the sea cats. According to it, the parasitic mold creped into its dwelling from somewhere and stuck to it. Its memories was hazy during its rampage, it just kept eating in order to escape from fear.

It asked the sea cats to come back so it could atone. 'I'm awkward, this is the only thing I can do', so it said. Uzume would go talk with other sea cats first, she told the High Kraken to rest for today which it agreed.

It's already evening by the time we're back at the beach. There's no evening since we're inside a dungeon tho'.

"I'm back, I did it somehow."

Back at the beach house, everyone greeted me each with their own outfits instead of swimsuits.

Apparently they bought those outfits themselves without my knowledge.

"...We got these ordered with our recent earning. Everyone picked the one Nobu would love."

Mitama's is a teacher style with glasses. Her suit-like adult dress paired with a tight skirt and stockings, dunno how they even made those, bewitchingly emphasize her rear and legs. Really, how'd you even made these, Maniwa-san? Ah, I do love glasses girls.

"Maniwa was quite ecstatic, ya see. He gladly took up our orders, see?"

Futsuno-san is in miko outfit. Fox ears and miko are a match made in heaven in Nobusada's gauge.
It's the red and white version you see a lot in Japan. The armpits aren't open, okay. Doesn't seem like she's wearing sarashi, those have been swaying around freely, highlighting their existence for a while now.

"Milord... um, love clothes with a lot of exposures, do you not? So I thought of putting one."

Kagura-san who's turned back to her normal state is in gym bloomers. Maniwa-san, just what have you brought into this world. I-it's seriously no joke. Due to her tall stature, she looked like an adult onee-san trying to dress up, but that's also good in itself!

"Ufufufu, Nobu-chan sure likes these things~. It's a bi~t different than the temple's ones, just where'd you even get the idea from I wonder~."

Sefi-san is in nun's habit. Her monocle brings about strictness to her image, outwardly that is.
The habits in this world are color coded in accordance to each temple, but the one Sefi-san is wearing is the black and white sister habit you often see in manga. Outrageous, simply outrageous. What is you ask, it's as you've imagined!

"I picked this one because I heard it's from Nobusada-san's hometown, what do you think?"

Eleanor-san is in yukata. Since we're in summer and all, she looks really nice.
She's probably the one that looks best in yukata among these girls. Where, I won't say. I won't.
Her blond hair is bundled up with an ornate hairpin. By the way, that hairpin is the hairpins I created as a practice in Metal Carving, everyone got one. Yup, she's beautiful. Her nape looks so sexy.

The smile I have now probably competes for the first or second spot I have ever had in my life. And I'm probably making the leeriest face I've ever made right now. No way in hell I could keep a straight face here!



Oh man, what a sight to sore eye.
And now it's time to return the favor by making the best dinner with this happiness intact!

First of all, sashimi. Underbelly tuna, medium fatty tuna, and red meat dished up. The rice go with the leftover into tuna bowls.
The collar bone meat is grilled, while I make the tail in steak fashion with garlic.
In addition, I combine carpaccio, seaweed miso and fruit into a sherbet so they won't get bored.

As for the kittens, I offered them the entrails I was going to make into fertilizers, cooked in a pot.


Since the ban on alcohol was lifted, it turned into a party. I managed to somehow stop Futsuno-san who was going to undress herself, saying it was too hot. I'll do that myself later! Don't deprive me of my fun!


After meal was another party. The grudge of getting all stickied up by High Kraken manifested into extra viscous face lotion for a slimy hyahha session. Naturally I was in charge of washing the used clothes later.

Brush, brush, Chief Seacat is brushing her face against me.
It's impossible to defeat her now that she's gotten attached to me! In order to ascertain just how things come to this, I plan to establish a contract with Differing Soul Telepahty.

"So yeah, I want you to form a contract with me and become a magical cat girl (physically)."

Chief Seacat tilted her head in confusion. Um okay, sorry, just messing with you owwww? Mitama-san, please stop pulling my cheek. Owowowowow.

Ah, this means OK.
Then I've gotta give her a name. But, a cat-like name... I've gone and used Tama already.
Umu, Nyan*-sensei or Ki*i would be too shoddy... I look around to search for hint. Futsuno, Mitama, Kagura... Dance? Speaking of dance... Ame-no-Uzume?

"Uzume, can you talk now? Why were you marching with so many seacats?"

Uzume nodded. This kitten is really clever.

"We, tried, to, cross, over, the, sea..."

From her disjointed speech, turns out these cats are not dungeon-borne monsters, they come from outside to look for a place to live at.
Uzume had been here since she was little, then some times after she settled in, she saved a young beached Kraken. That Kraken appeared to be relatively intelligent as well (apparently monsters with high intelligence can sometimes be spotted in a dungeon, per Eleanor-san), and they became fast friends that went beyond races.
After a while, Uzume got to be in charge of a pack of seacats while continuing a symbiotic relationship with the Kraken.
However, that Kraken suddenly went mad a little while ago and started going on a rampage. Its behavior changed, from hunting only prey it required to live to eating down everything in sight, it even started going for Uzume's pack. Left with no other choice, they abandoned their dwelling and began a wandering life, that was when they cornered a Maguros after a hard struggle. But then, I went and cut it up when it got away from them with space warp. They came this far to get back at me for snatching their prey.

True enough, there's quite a lot of thin looking seacats here and there. It's not like I'm against keeping them, but I don't think it's good to shut these active sea cats, not to mention the food expense.
Meaning, we've got to settle the matter upstream.

"So err, I know that we're in vacation and all, but I just can't bear to leave these kittens alone, mind if I do something about the Kraken for a spin?"

"...Everyone knew you would say that, Nobu."

"Yeap yeap, I mean I cannae' say no to these round eyes of 'em either."

"It's just, please don't push yourself too hard since Nobusada-san always manages to put himself in harm's way whenever you do this."

"Listen to her, Nobu-chan. Turn around and run right away if you think it's bad okay~. If it seems hopeless, we'll all think together about taking these kittens home with us~."

Even Sefi-san... Oh geez, they're all such dependable wives!

Huh? I don't see Kagura-san anywhere.

Buho. She's being swarmed by kittens turning into a cat's paw behind Sefi-san.

They all immediately dispersed with Uzume's cry, but man, lil' girl Kagura-san's got to face so many dangers in life.

So yeah, I've gone all the way to the far side. By making use of a new composite version of all high-speed magic, [<<Flight System>>], I arrived at Uzume's former dwelling in no time. I put Uzume on my shoulder during the flight since she looked like she was struggling to keep up with my speed halfway through.
Uzume got down on the sea surface and dived in. Looks like she's looking for that Kraken in question.
Guess I'll look with Space Grasp myself.

Found it!

There's one big thing. Its body alone is about five meters long. Double that size if we include its legs. Will this thing get even bigger with age? I could just imagine a huge Kraken coming out of the dungeon if this is left alone. Let's ask Eleanor-san later what happens then if that becomes a reality.

I can't use [Space Camouflage] in unison with [<<Flight System>>] due to some sort of compatibility issues, so I come closer slowly and confirm the situation with Discerning-sensei from a distance.

Once I got close enough to catch it with bare eyes, I saw it restraining a huge turtle that looked like it would fit right in Urashima Tarou's story, the Kraken was about to chew its head. OH, it's a Kaijuu clash! I have Uzume back off just in case. Can't let her get dragged in this.

An evolved Kraken monster. As one of the possible evolutions, its size is small compared to ordinary Krakens, however it's highly intelligent and even capable of speech. They can cast magic and are feared as devils of the sea by sailors.

What the heck?

Its state is clearly weird. Its HP and MP would recover every time it bit on the turtle, but then they would immediately decrease. And that keeps repeating ad infinitum. Is it like when you've got food poisoning and on IV yet can't stop eating?
If I can just find out the cause of this phenomenon, perhaps I can turn back its sense.

I tried to deploy Discerning-sensei to find out the cause, but since the Kraken is so far deep down inside the sea, it's not going too well.

Guess I've got to get closer?

Right when I thought that. Something slippery is wrapping my legs. Taken by surprise, I ended up getting entangled in no time. Due to the shock, I lost control of [<<Flight System>>], undoing it.

Objection! No one's gonna cheer seeing a man getting entangled in tentacles!!

Putting my strength into it does nothing, can't get away at all. Feels like they're gluing harder even. Fine then, eat my magic!

"Repulsion!"

A repulsion force got generated with me in the center, repelling the Kraken's tentacles away. Uwoo, my whole body is all sticky, gross.
And since the force is spherical shaped, I'm floating above the sea. I immediately switched to [<<Flight System>>] and got away from the hotbed of tentacled area.

Once the stickiness and fear settled down, I got my composure back and resumed my observation when I noticed something wrong in the surroundings. It's overflowing with abnormally high magic essence. Almost feels like the small room where a boss spawns. The glittering lights on the sea surface is not only due to light reflecting, I believe it's also due to magic essence drifting in the sea. Don't quote me on that though!

I hurriedly look at High Kraken, and see its MP gradually decreasing.

That means. Mana is leaking out of the High Kraken, and to compensate for that, it's chasing down prey like crazy. Meaning the cause is... won't know without getting closer to the main body past those tentacles.

Now then, I've got to make it stop moving, and my usual M.O. for restrain would be.

Air Bind -> Doesn't work in the water!
Graviton -> It's just gonna plunge it deeper in the water, game over!

Chapter 103 Sea Vacation (3)

 

NYAAAAAAN

They avariciously run after the prey that has escaped their clutch. Relying on the faint smell of that prey as they run on the sea.
The smell suddenly disappeared just as it was getting weaker.
Unforgivable. Anyone who snatch their prey.
The glint in their eyes grew sharper as they looked at the direction of that smell, then they dashed out.







I went back to the beach, wiped Lunar Cat with magic water and began dismantling the tuna. I know how to roughly do it but no idea about the inside, so I'm groping around in the dark.
First of all, I cut off the gills and entrails. Since I have no clue what to use them for, I'm putting them in a stone bucket to mix up as fertilizer later.
Next I cut apart the joints and the head somehow.
Then I went for the dorsal fin, which was very hard. I managed to cut it off with some damage on the body.
I then cut it into two along the backbone and filleted the pieces, but it's so big and tough. I mean it even filled the entire kitchen table I made from stone to dismantle this thing.
Think I'll scrape off the meat on these bones and make some nakaochi donburi (raw meat on rice).
And now I just need to slice and dice it up. Oh ho, this one's quality piece, this one's medium-fatty piece. Nice~ it'll make for some good lard. Can't make sushi since I haven't been able to make rice vinegar, but this will do as a side dish. Aah, wish I had some wasabi.

As I was frantically handling the tuna, the girls had banded together watching me work with a serious look on their face.

"Wanna have a little taste?"

Can I really!? Everyone had that look on their faces.

"Try to dip a piece in soy sauce. Yup, it's good raw too."

They timidly carry their pieces to their mouth. You girls aren't eating carpaccio there, you know.
Once the red meat got in their mouth, "Nn~~~~~~", they started shaking with indescribable looks. I see it's to their liking. I can't even imagine just how much this kind of bluefin tuna would go for in Japan. Since I've got quite a lot, I'll share some for master and Boss-san.

The girls looked dissatisfied for once. No err, didn't you girls just stuff yourself full you couldn't move. They finally relented after I told them that this would taste even better on an empty stomach.




Our vacation resumed after I was done with the time-consuming dismantling.

The usually sluggish Sefi-san made her swift assault in the water.

"Kuh, who knew Sefi-san had this kind of hidden skill. 'K then you're asking 'fer it, I'm not gonna lose m'self."

Splash, splash, Futsuno-san pushed her way forward in the water.
They're having a huge water fight between adult team consisting of Eleanor-san and Sefi-san versus young team of Mitama, Futsuno-san and Kagura-san. All five are wearing paper target on their head as they engage in a confused melee.
As for me, I've been put on the prize stand, bound for some reason.
The victorious team is to be awarded dessert made by me.
That's the plan at least... but I was supposed to join in that kyakya ufufufu festival! They wrapped me up real good I can't even move an inch!!
I tried to flail around for a while before eventually giving up.
Yeah, I'd rather not miss everyone's charming figures.
Their healthy physiques flicking away sprays of waters are a sight for sore eyes.
Magic use is prohibited. Five beauties playing with water, splashing around. One of them is in lil' girl mode though.
They scoop out water shooting at each other's upper part. The adult team is lacking in manpower, but since Kagura-san is like that, they're perfectly balanced. Or not really, I thought they'd be in disadvantage, but Sefi-san's unexpected nimbleness proved highly challenging for the young team. I wonder if it's because Lamias are strong with water.
Though the young team have lots of levels under their belt, they were no match against Eleanor-san's physical prowess, she and Sefi-san worked together to snatch victory from the young team. Even though she didn't show any sign of using water magic, I'd overlook how it looked like she was controlling water.

I hadn't mention to the girls that Sefi-san had also liberated her second class. Since it would require divulging many things about her, it's presently a secret between me and Sefi-san.

Geomancer isn't really a well known Class, it apparently lets you control stuff like water by possessing the mindset of 'feel, don't think'. In a sense, it's the perfect class for Sefi-san, won't say that out loud of course.

The secret prize, my body was presented to the adult team.
Since I felt bad if they didn't get the dessert, I made some grade-up stuff for the victorious team.

What? Feels like I'm hearing sound of claws scraping against a pillar. But the girls don't seem to hear nor notice it. Which means something's up with the barrier?

Searching the surroundings with Space Grasp, I saw something small in the direction where I beat the tuna. Small things I've never seen before, can't make it out from here. There's quite a lot of them despite their size.

That's weird, I mean this barrier even easily stopped Kagura-san's spear....

I nodded and faced the sea ahead.
With just my trunks and Lunar Cat. I've raised my defense with Full Protection and Mana Clad. It's better than having water sticking to my clothes. 'Gan gon gan gon' I raised stone walls on the seashore to prevent them running past me.

Oh I see, so it's that kind of monsters, I see. I can only accept this stuff by this point. Like hell. Umineko are birds, you dummy!


I'm having a stand off with a huge number of kitten-sized cat that are supposed to be monsters on the seashore. This situation must be unbearable for cat lovers. Naturally, that applies to me too!

35 of them huh... I could annihilate them all at once... But I can't bear to attack with those round eyes looking at me. As I was searching for ways out of this, I recalled something, rummaged my Dimensional Storage for that thing I was gonna use on Mitama and secretly let it ride on some reallllly weak breeze.

Splash splash, one after another the cats dropped down the seashore. As expected of the chief, it hasn't let up its guard even while staggering. These Umineko are currently drunk. Indeed, it was silver vine I just sprinkled. It works even on monsters huh. I actually brought it with me to nyanyan with the drunk Mitama, wicked thought, good thing it found its use elsewhere.

FUSHAAAAAAA (I'm not gonna let this stuff beat me!)

Chief Umineko jumped out in an attempt to claw me. I blocked it with Lunar Cat, producing a CLINK sound of metal clashing. Looking closer, it seems to have clad its claws with mana. This cat must have cut the barrier.

Chief Umineko kept coming at me even while staggering. I kinda look like the baddie here.

I grabbed hold of it just when it jumped.

Behold! This fingerwork of mine! This power of mofumofu that brought even Mitama and Futsuno-san to their knees!
As I rubbed its throat and brushed its stomach, Chief Umineko's eyes started to loosen in rapture.

With a shrill cry, Chief Umineko got knocked out. Oh and those voice overs you heard were narrated by Nobusada at his own's discretion.


Phew, good grief. That was a tough opponent?

For now, gotta pull those cats out of the seashore lest they drown. The girl's eyes were wide open when they got back fully armed only to be greeted with a huge band of cats.


In the end, all the cats prostrated themselves before me who had prevailed against Chief Umineko. Since their stomaches cutely rumbled all together then, I gave them leftover small fish which they ate in great relish.
Chief Umineko is currently sitting meekly next to me. The other cats also let the girls hug all over them after seeing their chief in that state.
Now then, wonder why these cats are even here anyway. Ah man, I can't bring myself to desert these cats and their different feels of mofumofu compared to Mitama's.

Chapter 102 Sea Vacation (2)

 

Our lunch was assorted marine products grills.

We lit up charcoal and simply grilled the fish and shellfish over it, which was superb.
And the condiment was my handmade soy sauce!
Yep, I finally did it. Tama bean soy sauce. After 49 trial runs, it was finally done.

Bubbles coming out of scallops, abalones, turban shells dropped by who knows what.
Saury, mackerel grilled with salt. Blueback and stuff made into namero. Other miscellaneous small fish for deep fryer.


The girls rushed out to grab the food every time I'm done making one, it's neverending!

Kagura-san who's usually a big eater already was chowing down everything next to Mitama.

"Fuhaa, I'm stuffed. Mine stomach's firmly in Nobu-kun's grip now. I can't get satiated without Nobu-kun no more."

"...Concrete satiation... Wonderful, blurp."

"Uuuh, I ate too much noja. I cannot move an inch."

"Thanks for the treat. I'll go wash the dish, honey."

"Nfufufuu, this side dish goes so nice with booze~"

Ah hey, Sefi-san's started drinking!!

She'd end up sleeping hugging the liquor bottle if I let her, so I hardened my heart and snatched it away from her. 'Iyaaan', she coquettishly protested, but I remonstrated her to wait until night.

By the way, tonight we plan to stay in the pre-built [Izumi Store Seaside Branch Office].
This jointless house made entirely from Stone Walls is a work of art at this point.

Ah, I may have said seaside there, but we don't have garnish-less curry rice or weirdly salty ramen here.
Speaking of curry, I just can't get over how I can't seem to find any spice for curry at all. Oh crap, and now I'm craving for it.







But man, been a while since we could relax like this.

Everyone kicked back and relaxed once we were done cleaning the dish. But this is nice once in a while.

My levels went up across the board.

MP went over one hundred million, I won't even comment on that anymore. Not my problem how far it wanna go up.

I learned [Healing Heart] once Monk reached level 20. This skill boosts effects of the user's healing magic. It's simple yet handy. Like, Healing Heart is mother's heart, applying it boost Heal.

Apparently Trap skill is a collective of everything trap, from setting up to disengaging them and more. Oh and, I was taught to rely on Intuition skills and the likes to detect traps.

The rise of skills related to magic modification are thanks to my continuous trials and errors. I was personally doing it very seriously, but people around me saw me like I was just fooling around randomly combining magic, so sad.
And here's the new existing magic usable to me now.

Sacred Magic

Holy Light - Magic that unleashes lights that crush evils. Especially effective on undead.
Area Heal - Heal that affects an area. Range will change as you master this.

I got a nosebleed due to overload of information when I first used this one. Gushing out like it was a literal water fountain. As such, I've got to put a limit on its usage until I raise my data processing capability and the magic mastery. But the ability to grasp terrain = no need for mapping alone already proves super handy.

Sharpening - Raise sharpness of instruments. Required Catalyst: Glowfly Whetstone.

Lv3　
Enchant Resistance - Effects change depending on catalyst used.
Scale of Charm: Resist Charm, Poison Bee Sting: Resist Poison, Curse Skull: Resist Curse etc.

The higher Magicraft and Metal Carving levels, the higher grade materials that can be used.
Right now it's stone-> copper-> iron. Metal Carving is zinc -> silver. Wonder if I would get to use gold and higher ranking materials like mithril and orichalcum one of these days. By the way, this skill lets you process stuff through mana, a completely different process than Boss-san's blacksmithing. Even though I can process iron, shaping it into a sword would create a really blunt one. Gotta practice more. Since I've got a stupid amount of mana anyway, wonder if I could do unlimited work thingy in the future...

With Alchemy leveled up, I'm now able to make magic rucksacks on my own. And thanks to Time Space Magic skill I have, I can create one even without the catalyst, Time Space Stone, it's a perfect combination. But I'd paint a target on my back if I made too many, so I only created enough for among ourselves. I mean, I could even create magic rucksacks with 1-ton capacity if I just had the mats for it.

Protections and lots of other stuff by Goddess Levellit who governs over growth and talent. Heartily loads of plus corrections to experience points, skill acquisition and mastery of the holder and his party members.

Are apparently titles from Ametoris, Hadin and Rutia respectively. Looks like I've been marked by these goddess. Hadin especially. Oh so scary.

A present from Levellit. Increase effects of Levellit Protections bestowed to family members.

After offering lots of food like meat and potato stew, boiled fish and stuff, I received information from no-goddess the next morning along with this title. I'll be sure to make good use of it, but something bothered me. Isn't this an abuse of power. When I told that to no-goddess, she said it's like 『Meal Ticket Abuse』. I did fish it with meals, yeah sure.

Ah, I'm not gonna even count [Magic Beast], no sire.



Soul Telepathy level went up after I did the nyan nyan with Eleanor-san.
Lv4 has the effect 『The master can change recipient's class. However, each change requires a large amount of mana』. It's simple yet hugely beneficial. Everyone was also surprised when I informed them of this the other day. I mean, now we can easily change our Classes without going to some Job Change Temples, imagine that. When I tried to see how much mana it needed, it consumed 100. Literally loose change to me.
I also found out something unbelievable with it. All of my wives have liberated their Second Class.
Since no one noticed, it would have been a waste had I not realized this fact. Dunno what was the impetus for the liberation, but it will be a massive boost to our party no doubt.

I'm thinking of raising Mitama's Thief level to 15 so they can have increased drop rates even without me around. And since she wanted to raise Genin after that point, I gave her my OK. Wonder if it's because of my story about masked ninjas during our pillow talk? Personally, I can't give up on Dancer Mitama though...

Futsuno
Miko - Monk
『Miko, Merchant, Monk, Minstrel』

Futsuno-san would be our party's barrier and healer support. Tama-chan will also help with support whenever she's around though. Futsuno-san is really good at singing, though I've only heard it once. Must be the reason for Minstrel class. 『Singing in public is just embarrassing, so no can do. It's super embarrassing okay.』 so she said, but it's A-OK if it's me. My little privilege.

Kagura
War Oni - Conjurer
『War Oni, Fighter, Axe Fighter, Staff Fighter, Spear Fighter, Conjurer.』

Kagura-san's wished for her second class to be Conjurer. Apparently she had always wanted to learn magic. But I'm wondering why when she's a total vanguard? Maybe it's because I've been leaving her in charge of overlooked enemies. No let's not think about it.

Eleanor
Magic Fist - Assassin
『Magic Fist, Fist Fighter, Jujitsu, Assassin, Animal Trainer.』

Magic Fist is an advanced class of Fist Fighter, they hit with their fist clad in Fighting Spirit (Touki) which then explode, or so it seems. Well, I mean, I haven't seen Eleanor-san going all out so I can only go by what I heard. Anyway, she's set Assassin as her second class. Kinda weird how she got advanced class right from the get go, but I'm guessing the reason might be that. Y'know, the matter that left me and Master almost dead? Well, it's going to strengthen Eleanor-san no matter how you look at it regardless though. Just gotta make sure us husband and wife never get into a quarrel! Animal trainer? I'm keeping it a secret since it's frightening me.

Dunno what it is, but it's been going at it endlessly, now I'm curious.

Now then, the end of the barrier is quite far. With Space Grasp, I see that some sort of big thing is ceaselessly crashing itself onto barrier. It's positioned above the sea. I slid above the sea surface with high-speed magic set to get there and found a monster that bore a resemblance to a Flying Fish but actually completely different. Outwardly it looks exactly like [Tuna!] as a certain famous actor would say. That black lustrous body must have some nice fat in it.

As it's a new species, this fish has only begun to awaken to its instinct. It will die if it doesn't keep moving forward, will it be a march toward salvation or is it a path of ruin it's treading.


It's literally tuna! And Discerning-sensei's explanation is kind of philosophical somehow. Anyway, let's deal with it at once and hope for a good drop.
But am I just imagining things or is it running away from something. I mean it keeps charging on even if it means wearing down its own HP. Its MP is about to run out, and it's wounded all over too. Yet I don't see anyone else around. Let's just do this real quick.

Chapter 101 Sea Vacation (1)

 

YIIIYAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

We're currently having our honeymoon right now. Two days one night, us newlyweds are vacationing on the sea of dungeon 7F.





It's been a month since that event.
After that moment on, [Shut-in Lamia] changed into [Izumi Store]. The store's mascot character is naturally Tama-chan. With a bare-footed Mandoragorua drawn next to hers.


Our store's main attractions are medicine and skin lotions. Unlike Dornuko-san's store, ours mainly deals in the expensive ones. As for the sub ones, our catalog lists stuff I made for test runs. Even though I'm not satisfied with those items, Sefi-san and Eleanor-san told me they were good enough to be displayed in the store. It's mostly rings adorned with enchant magic. Well, digging up silver and all kind of metal is easy with a modified magic I created by combining Search Metal and Earth Wall, it's practically natural resources. How it's all free besides the enchant magic catalysts is so wonderful.

How did I, an amateur, end up making all these new medicines anyway. It's all thanks to Sefi-san's guidance and Discerning-sensei. People will consume those medicines after all, the fact that I can confirm its efficacy, quality and safety without a clinical trial speeds things up by a lot. Of course I didn't leave everything up to Sensei. Once I've confirmed that my creations seem safe, I test them on myself before putting them up for sale.



Due to this and that, and the unexpected popularity of our products, it ended up taking longer than expected until the situation at store settled down.

And once it has, we got here.




A vast ocean stretching out as far as eyes can see in the great hall we ignored during our first outing here.

This vacation is supported by a wide-ranged barrier I learned from Futsuno-san to create a safe zone for us.



The how to is quite simple, you there, take note.

1: Put juust enough mana for a long lasting wide ranging barrier to cover from the beach side to the depths of the ocean. And since I ain't gonna let my honeys in their swimsuits be seen by other adventurers, I mix in Space Camouflage to turn it into a special barrier.

2: Can't let the monsters prowl around in the sea so go ahead and shoot out one huge lightning magic to round them up together.

3: Gather item drops from all the monsters that floated up on the ocean to secure ingredients for our lunch, nice.

For the time being, I'll put up a sign outside the barrier that says, [Reserved spot. Protected by a barrier, do not enter]. Not a lot of people come here to begin with, but in case there are, I put that sign up so they won't report to the guild about an invisible camouflaged barrier they found. The guild has been informed of this through Eleanor-san too though.

Chapter 100 A New Life

 

A perfect blue sky with nary a cloud.


A crowd of people we invited over are giving their blessings behind us.
They're the people I met in Gramada.
Master and Kyle.
Donur-san, Minerva-chan, Fou-chan, Rakog-san.
Boss-san and Gilui-san.
Maniwa-san, Mineia-san, Muscle brothers.
Kumahat-san and the shopping street folks.
Amiral-san, and members of the guild.
Kirishna-san and many onee-sama from the red light district (I was just treating them per Kirishna-san's request, okay!)
Yoshii-san and Peter-san.
Dornuko-san and Nene-san.

Dilt-san, Tino-chan, the three girls, Tama-chan and Wakamoto-san whom all I consider as family.

In all my life, the time I spent in this world was the most densest.
It's not an exaggeration to say that this very moment is the culmination of it.

Five women in pure white dresses standing next to me.
They're a huge reason that compelled me to work hard and get to this point.
I managed to arrive here without losing my way because I met Mitama and Futsuno-san in the forest. I might have lost my life there even. They taught me how to live in this world and what's important.
Sefi-san became a concrete home for me to go back to. There were times when she took me for a ride but those times also what made me feel alive.
I only got this far because I helped and was helped by Kagura-san. I wouldn't have been able to save Futsuno-san without her. Kagura-san herself was able to liberate her mother and undo the curse assailing her. I want us to continue supporting each other from now on.
Eleanor-san forged my body and heart along with Master. I'm grateful to her for making me, in many sense, stronger. Besides, even this normally strong-willed girl has periods when she would act spoiled and lonely. We may live apart even after our marriage, but I'd like to do things we weren't able to before.

I've put the seemingly correct lines on every invitation letters. Everyone read the line aloud.

Everyone was dumbfounded, but then some of them cheered again. Which spread out to eventually become a huge cheering and applause.
This place is most definitely the noisiest spot in Gramada right now.



"Some unexpected incidents aside, I can never thank you enough for coming here in this start of our new life today. And now we're done with formalities! Let's put aside ranks and stuff just for today! Chee~~~~~rs!"

Sounds of glasses hitting one another resounded in the venue with my signal.
It then turned into a huge merrymaking.

Even I was surprised when my status as an apostle got grandly advertised. But well, doesn't seem there's anyone who thinks too deep about it since we're talking about that goddess here.

Wakamoto-san and Tama-chan are watching over Nobusada and the girls' joyous moments from afar.

Nod nod, Tama-chan submerged herself into the water. Looks like she was in agreement.
Then she was shaking about something.

"Hm? Young lady wants to stand next to young'un too one day? Might be difficult with a monster body even if yer' his tamed monster. You just gotta be human? Well, I guess yer' right. But that'd depend on what young'un seeks from young lady."

Tama-chan weakly shook to respond Wakamoto-san. Wakamoto-san gently admonished Tama-chan.

"Listen now, young lady. Young'un himself musta always been prioritizing what ye want all this time. Then ya just gotta talk it out to young'un till he got it. Was pretty reckless too back in the days myself, and whenever I think about it now, I thought yeah I probably shouldnta."

Tama-chan listened attentively to the wisdom of old.



It's only been a few months since Wakamoto-san sprouted though.

I turned around at the one calling me all of a sudden.
An unfamiliar well-dressed middle-aged man with sunglasses walked up to me.
He's about the same age as Master, maybe a bit younger. Looking closer, his sunglasses are like the ones Maniwa-san's got.

"Yes, how may I help you?"

"My name is Quantor. I asked Matda a huge favor to let me take part in this banquet so I could talk to you, Nobusada-kun. Do you mind keeping me company?"

"Oh yes, I should be fine now."

"Ah, and sorry about these sunglasses. I've got bad eyes, you see. Not so much about eyesight, but the strong sun ray would have hurt them so."

"Oh no, I don't mind at all. It's as I said earlier, today is a time to put ranks aside."

"Thank you. My daughters are huge fans of your face lotions, they've been using it regularly, you see. And then I found out that the founder was such a young man. I'm quite curious just how you managed to come up with it."

Chapter 99 Before the Start of a New Life

 

Me wrapped in a bamboo mat.
Whoa, Eleanor-san carried me on her shoulder.
Whoa, got taken home, got in a mount position.
Aah, impermanence.

Good morning, the sun is yellowly dazzling Nobusada here.

I poked my nose into lots of things yesterday, then I got scolded by Eleanor-san through body language. People have been calling me terrible names like wild beast or devil beast, but that's a huge lie. I curled up round and small like a chihuahua.

I... want to prevail against that person!

Anyway, one week has passed since then.
The guard couldn't get any clue at all, they're in a limbo right now. As for me, I found some time to visit Afuro-kun's group but they didn't have any new contact either. Lots of things are still unclear, but I guess it's settled down for now?

Let's forget about gloomy stuff for the time being, I'm currently running around all over the place to get ready for a certain thing.

"Yu~p, per.fec.to! Final adjustment complete. Some really ni~ce blood boiling muscle dancing work that was!"

So a satisfied-looking Maniwa-san said as he handed over my order. From a glance, they're really something special. These won't lose to even to stuff from modern Japan.

"Thank you very much. Here's an invitation letter for you. I also have letters for Minea-san and Muscle Brothers, but since I don't know where they are right now, would you mind passing these to them when they drop by here?"

"Ara ara, it's a-okay. I'm looking forward to see my finest works worn already. Seeing them worn in person is the best thing about this line of work, you know."

I thanked Maniwa-san who had a really big smile behind his sunglasses once again before leaving to deliver the invites to more people.



That's right, I'm gonna hold some sort of a wedding ceremony with everyone we know gathered. Apparently, you don't get to hold a wedding ceremony unless you're a noble around these parts. You simply make an oath at a temple. Though well, my version is more like a huge party where I proclaim I'll take care of those girls for the rest of our lives. Even so, it should be a huge load off shoulders to Master who's been worried about her daughter's future, and Kirishna-san who's like a guardian to those two.

Besides, I'd also like to improve the overall mood around here. That's why I'm also sending invites to Donur-san, Dornuko-san, Kyle, Kumahatt-san, everyone whom we have been indebted on.


"Cheese, Boss-san, you here?"

A sleepy looking Boss-san wearing his usual red attires came out.

"Yaaaawn, ou, what's up? Sorry, but I ain't done with that weapon yet."

"Ah, I'm here for another matter. Here you go."

I took an invitation letter from my chest pocket and handed it over to Boss-san.

"Hm? Oooh, finally ready for that huh. You ain't even half my age."

We're probably about the same age in reality though. Also, I have something to ask Boss-san, specialist of metalwork.

"And also. Do you know about a skill to process precious metal using mana? I happened to heard about the existence of such a skill."

"Ah, you mean Magicraft now. I'm no good with that stuff myself. But I know someone who does. You've met him before yerself."

"Eh?"

"Gilui's a pro at that, y'see. Enchant magic and Engraving are part of Magicraft. That guy should be awake right about now, how 'bout dropping by there?"

What! Truly strong big brother, soft little brother. I'd like to study under him.

"You have my gratitude. I'll be waiting for your presence on the day. We'll have some nice booze for you, Boss-san."

"Ou, Imma work hard on that thing till then."

Boss-san declared loudly. I'm not in a hurry so he really didn't have to, but he himself must be really into that work. There's some really dark circles around Boss-san's eyes. Please just don't knock yourself out.


Afterward, I visited 『Gilui's Tavern』 and came up to Gilui-san standing inside. I explained my situation and got his approval to teach me even while I was slightly taken aback by the sight of an old man wearing a pajama with green heart marks motif. In exchange, I have to deliver him the popular ice blocks from time to time, but that's practically nothing to me since I can make those as much as I want.

Thanks to Gilui-san's thorough and easy to understand teachings, I managed to hone my skill by practicing non-stop with my practically limitless mana. As a result, I managed to complete six dazzling silver rings three days before the main event. All of these have been enchanted with [Anti Curse], [Anti Poison], and [Anti Charm], everything I could put in as of now.

By the way, the trial Japanese sake was made due to an unreasonable demand by our three drunkards, 『We got rice 'ere, so of course Nobu-chan's gonna make it right~?』, so it's been put under test already. I tried to make it since we got a lot Satan Brocade in stock anyway, and ended up getting too into it. I did pass out from inhaling too much alcohol...

Now then, only a bit more until the main event. The preps are entering its final phase.


Of course, other people besides me are doing their parts as well.

Mitama, Futsuno-san, Kagura-san, and also Tama-chan are running around in the dungeon in order to procure ingredient for the d-day.
Eleanor-san is handing over invitation letters to people we are indebted to at the guild.
Sefi-san is... She's desperately working to fulfill another order whose numbers she mistook, again. Other personnel got dragged into her mess. She's as hopeless as ever.
Wakamoto-san must be photosynthesizing right about now. As a guardian, just having him standing there symbolizes peace, so it's all good.

Clad in dresses, they all captivated me like never before.
Lost for words, I took their hands and opened the door.
I closed my eyes for a second due to the dazzling sunlight, before opening them to the sight of many people gathered here to congratulate us.

Chapter 98 Malice Lurking in the Dark

 

Since Brighton-kun has come to as well, right now we're all encircling the sitting Belchika for interrogation time.

"So could you tell us how it turned out to this?"

Originally, a party-specific problem should have nothing to do with me, but since I've used [Curse Return] and all, I'd like to know the circumstances as well.

"Err, why are you? Nobusada-san, isn't it? The one rumored to get women pregnant just by glancing at them."

Just how big have the rumors grown anyway. This feels like pure malice at this point. I'd be sure to have everyone console me once I get back, sniffle.

"That's absolutely wrong! I have people dear to me already. I'd never lay my hands on some random passerby just because! I see you're looking at those girls, just so you know they're our store's employees, don't get it wrong!!"

Good grief. All of them are looking here.

"Excuse me. But that doesn't explain how you are related to this."

What a strong willed girl. I'm convinced she's the type that will go wild on her own though.

"I just happened to stop Afuro-kun's rampage by chance, but I also wouldn't want people handing out those cursed magic tools in the middle of town. I have a duty to report this to the head commander, my master."

"Eh, you're a fellow disciple of Papan!?"

Afuro-kun, what's that Papan... By the way, apparently he had no idea about our match yesterday since he's been in the dungeon this whole time.

"Yeah, I'm Matda-shi's tenth disciple. Back on topic, those magic tools aren't something some random fortune teller would possess. I have no clue how big this whole thing is, but it's definitely not something limited to your party."

"You're right. I understand. I shall tell everything I know."

This is Belchika's side of story.
She was in love with Afuro-kun. However, Afuro and Chein had been getting along well lately, she began panicking. Then another friend of her told her about a fortune teller rumored to give precise advices, thus she went straight to them.
At the site, she couldn't look away from the crystal ball, and was somehow convinced that Afuro would turn to her if she did everything the fortune teller told her to.
Then, today she gave him that gem as a charm and pretended to have been lost while watching over the situation herself.

"Do you remember that fortune teller's name and looks?"

"Err, huh? I can't seem to recall. And the friend who introduced me to that fortune teller... who?"

This is more like a memory manipulation than merely leading her around. I dunno how truthful she is being, but it's probably true that someone had come in contact with her in an attempt to harm Afuro-kun. And yet, Afuro-kun himself has no idea about all this when asked.
Which means, this pertains men of major positions related to him. Either Temuro-san, or even perhaps the one above him, the duke himself. Either way, this is far beyond a lone adventurer's hand. We'll have to let Master and co. handle this.

"At any rate. Everyone, keep all this to yourself. Afuro-kun, could you contact Temuro-san right away?"

"Sorry, I have no idea about Papan, I mean, father's schedule."

"I see. Okay then, let's just head straight to the guard garrison. Master should be there today. We'll ask the guards to catch that fortune teller by the tail. Also, Belchika-chan should probably stay somewhere safe for a while. Any idea where?"

"Then she should come with me to the temple. We have temple knights-sama under the same roof there, she could stay in my room if she would."

Chein offered a helping hand to Belchika. Seeing that, Belchika teared up before hugging her.

"Sorry, forgive me. Even though it's all my fault."

"It's okay. It's not your fault Belchika. I might have been manipulated myself, you know."

Afterward, Belchika cried her eyes out.
I'll let Chein take care of her until she calmed down.
Well then, what to do with the boys.

"Afuro-kun, Brighton-kun, what's your plan? Me think explaining the situation to Temuro-san and ask for his protection would be best."

"I... Would rather not rely on father. But then, someone else could get dragged into this because of me, could it?"

"Yep. You might be the target or perhaps there's something else behind it. We are totally clueless though so there's just no way to be sure here."

"Would it be fine if we leave the decision making to father? Brighton, are you okay with that?"

"(nod nod)."

Brighton nodded at Afuro. I was wondering why he hadn't said a word, turned out he was a silent character.
By the way, Afuro-kun apologized to him with a dogeza the moment he came to. Brighton only patted Afuro-kun's shoulder while smiling like saying 'don't mind it', so that was cuz' he couldn't talk.

"Well then, time to get out of this dungeon."

Everyone nodded and departed the place.

A crystal ball put on an alter broke into pieces with a shrill sound.

A man in hood turned to look at it with a dubious look on his face.

"Curse Return? I don't believe those little girls are capable of something like that. Tch, what a waste of memory manipulation artifact. That thing's pretty valuable."

The man thinks.
Altering the mana through the crystal ball just in case of having the art returned was the right decision on his part.
However, this situation is bad in itself. There's an art user capable of Curse Return around them. This location might even get found out.

"Damn, what a pain in the ass. Well fine, done 90% of stuff Boss told me to do anyway. Just gotta wait for the right time and activate that stuff over there. Gotta raise this pawn I got here too. Thought I could get rid of those pesky 『Meteor』 and 『War Fist』, but that was too much to ask eh."

The man muttered something before the fortune teller tent suddenly vanished.

The only thing left in the dark is a hooded man with sharp eyes like that of a bird of prey.

"Now then, ladies and gentlemen of Gramada. It won't be for a while, but I hope you shall enjoy the show time. I'll have myself a special seat to watch over it safely. Well then, see you again in a while."

The man made a light step dance before melting into the darkness.

The guard garrison is situated not too far from the dungeon's entrance. After taking them there, I escorted our girls home. Then I went back to the garrison.

"Fumu, that happened huh."

Master scowled while stroking his beard.
Yukito-san next to him doesn't look cheerful.
Afuro-kun and the gang are resting in another room.
Only us three in this room.

"S'fine to conclude that matter is related to this one then, eh Yukito."

"Most definitely, yes. I have dispatched our people to several spots where the fortune teller is likely at, but it's probably already gone by now."

"For sure."

"Err, I have no idea what's what, what is it about?"

"Umu, there's this incident that's been giving us headaches lately. We have a few dozens of relatively capable adventurers and townspeople losing memories for a period of time or having recollections of inexplicable experiences."

"We have utterly no idea how it's done, however, Nobusada-kun's conjecture is most likely correct."

"I'm sorry, I broke the necklace that could have worked as evidence..."

"Oh no no, you had no choice there. We couldn't have gotten her circumstances otherwise. But really, undoing curse and even appraisal, you're truly versatile, Nobusada-kun. Oh but this man's disciples being extraordinary is just the usual though."

"Anyway, we've dispatched a messenger to Temuro. Should have gotten to him by now. As for the girls, the guards will take responsibility of escorting them to Hadin temple."

"How about Afuro-kun and Brighton?"

"That'd be up to Temuro. They ain't gonna dive in the dungeon at their state though, he's probably gonna work them hard at training ground."

Ah, my condolences. I and Yukito-san reflexively looked at each other and smiled wryly.
Afterward, I could hear intermittent screams coming from training ground. Afuro-kun's face was full of swollen marks when he dropped by to thank me later. I cast Heal on him then, do your best young one.

The day after, we got reports from the dispatched guards, and sure enough the spots were completely vacant.
Having absolutely no clue despite it being quite a huge incident, Master and co. were at their wits' end. For now they apparently plan to intensify patrols for a while.

Chapter 97 Platinum Right Hand

 

Arriving at the site, Nobusada was greeted with a scene of a boy swinging a sword around like a madman and a girl shouting at him while frantically trying to dodge his assault. Another man of the same age who's probably their party member is lying on the ground, bleeding.

What is this pandemonium.

"Come back to your senses, please Afuro!!"

"CHEEEEEEEEEEYIIIIIIIN. I'VE ALWAYS BEEEEEEEEEEEEN"

The expression behind the boy's steel helmet is that of a lunatic, not that of a sane man. Various liquid like drool and stuff are spilling out of his mouth.
Whoa, this isn't the time to to make a commentary. It's situation critical no matter how you look at it.

Even though the girl somehow managed to barely block the sword with her mace, her strength was just not enough against the boy. The blade is pushing closer to her body.

"Kuh aa, I can't"

Just when she was about to yield, a voice resounded out of the blue.

"Air Bind!!!"

A spell Nobusada cast bound the boy. The girl dropped her mace before falling down herself.

"Aah, I intruded in since things were looking bad there, or was it an unnecessary intervention?"

The girl had a face mixed with relief and wariness turned at Nobusada who called out to her with a nonchalant voice.

"N-no, you're a lifesaver. Thank you very much."

"But really, just what's going on here anyway. Mind filling me in? Oh wait, gotta go treat that person first."

"Ah, then let me..."

"Oh it's fine. All in a day's work. High Heal!"

"Eeeeeeeh, no way. High Heal, chantlessly!?"

The fallen boy's wounds closed up in a blink of an eye. His ghastly breathing that sounded like it would stop at any moment stabilized as well. The girl was relieved to see her friend saved even amidst her surprise at the stunt.

"N-no, I'm fine. As for your question earlier, I don't have the answer to that either."

"Ah, excuse me. I haven't introduced myself. My name is Chein, I'm a priestess who serves upon Hadin-sama. The fighter lying over there is Brighton, and the restrained boy over there is our leader, Afuro. And then there's another party member, but she went missing..."

The girl leaped up in surprise the moment she heard the name. Her line of sight toward Nobusada turned cautious.

"Ah, it's fine. I could hazard a guess. You probably won't believe it coming from me, but those nicknames have been nothing but trouble to me. Who even likes to be thought as a man who would indiscriminately assault girls."

The girl, Chein bowed apologetically.

"So, you see. We were walking on this floor to hunt monsters like always when a mage member of our party went missing all of a sudden, then just when we were about to look for her, Afuro turned out like that. Brighton was cut when he was trying to cover me, I was in frenzy afterward."

Fumu. I'm curious about that missing member, but this Afuro boy takes priority for now.

Nobusada got on guard while having a distant look in his eyes.

Afuro is swinging his sword once again while howling out.
The sword was swung down toward Nobusada... which got parried and sent to the ground.
Nobusada immediately elbowed a side of the blade, but instead of getting flicked away, the boy's hand got dislocated instead.
The sword is stuck in his hand? Is it the 『Unremovable Cursed Equipment』 type?

I was planning to try out some things at first, but I guess this isn't the time.

"Graviton!"

I directly put gravity around the touched blade. No matter how out of control he is, he surely can't swing it around now with this and his dislocated hand.

"Let me help undo your curse, it's gonna hurt a bit tho'. Clench your teeth!"

I recite a spell while holding my right hand with my left.

"Shine, palm of mine! Roar and break this curse!"

Light converges in Nobusada's right hand. Eventually a platinum-colored light dwells in that hand.

The unleashed palm slapped Afuro's left cheek with all its might. A mark from Nobusada's right hand on Afuro's left cheek turned into light. Then a change took place.

The light gradually wrapped around Afuro's whole body. Once it covered his whole body, the sword that was stuck so hard in his hand dropped down just like that. A will dwelt back in his then unfocused eyes, putting Nobusada in sight.

"That hurt, even Maman never hebua"

"Another slap!?"

"A great man once said this. When you got your left cheek slapped, offer your right cheek right away."

""WHO SAID THAT!!?""

The two quipped back in harmony. Well aren't you a pair.
For now I cast Heal on his dislocated hand.

The Curse Return should work if everything goes well. Though folks who would do this kind of crimes are probably also prepared to deal with this.
