In my previous world, violence is seen as a crime, there's no place for it there.
I've never been subjected to this kind of intimidation back then. Moreso with swords pointed at me with my life on the line.
Violence will get you charged with crime in this world as well. But what if it's to protect yourself?
Self defense is legitimized. That's the only time violence is justified. It's the same in the old world.
What's different is how intimidation and killing are happening as part of daily life in the underbelly of this world. A whole lot of them.
The chance of encountering danger is simply way higher here. Possessing this power in such a world can't be a bad thing. It's supposedly good even.
As such there is no issue at all with me wielding it. What about this time?
(Hm? Was I being hasty? But I'm not gonna show mercy to those who abuse their authority.)
I should be seen as innocent from third party's point of view.
I showed these guys proof of my griffon's ownership yet they still falsely accused me of wrongdoings.
They kept pushing their luck and eventually asked for bribe.
They then attacked me out of anger when I refused.
Fearing for my life, I knocked them out.
(Alright! I'm innocent no matter how you slice it! I see nothing wrong with joining the line to enter the city through the front gate.)
I went past the five people still lying on the ground and slotted myself at the end of the queue.
The people already in the line are looking at me with all kinds of emotions on their faces.
Thus, I waited for about 15 minutes. It's finally my turn. The gatekeeper turned his sight at me.
"...You're the guy who beat those five members of Administrative Office, aren't you? Follow me."
I thought to myself, 'That was fast'.

I think I heard about how Administrative Office values strength. Meaning me beating them is like slinging mud on their honor.
Unable to stand that, the Office is gonna send their henchmen my way one after another. Events like this has no end to it.
(Acting before thinking just because I'm fed up is not good. But I just don't have the patience.)
Before I could start worrying about missing the opportunity to tour the city, something unexpected happened, in a good way.
"Oh man, that felt so good. Those guys always threw their weight around like thugs they are. They even started doing shady stuff bordering on crimes lately. But their defeat at your hands should be enough to drive them out of the Administrative Office. And then we could let them roam free under our watch until we catch them red handed. No really, we can't thank you enough."
I got brought to a rest room near the gate, served a cup of tea and praised to high heavens.
"Those five are known for their strength. The Administrative Office is at a wit's end having to deal with them. You're a lifesaver, truly. The office's reputation was on the verge of collapsing if we didn't do something about them soon. You have our gratitude."
I feel restless being thanked like this. After all, I didn't beat them up for such a lofty goal nor was it for anyone's sake.
But well, it's a relief I'm not going down a route where I gotta go up against the whole Administrative Office.
"Ah, I didn't think that far ahead. So, err. Am I allowed to enter this city?"
Not like I don't care about what those guys were up to, but I gotta ask about that point.
I did stand out with griffon yesterday. I am willing to give up if they deem me as a dangerous person after that and what happened with those thugs today.
"May I have your ID or a pass. Pardon me... All clear. We sincerely hope you could enjoy the exhilarating dances of blood and sweat in the coliseum to your heart's content."
The gatekeeper bowed respectfully once I showed him the 'Second Class Pass'.
