Kamisama no Kago wo Kyohishitara?! Chapter 525

525 Shouldn't Have Listened

After a breather, we resumed the talk.

"All Black Clads have one 'Power' in common in every document I have gathered. The kind of power that's wholly hard to believe you'd think they were just lying, bragging or under delusions."

I'm not sure if I should respond here. Do I tell Binota that I have that power?
But I could only keep quiet. My danger sense is sounding the alarm bell.

"It's okay. I understand. I don't plan to cross such a dangerous bridge nor will I inquire further. I swear I will not divulge this matter to anybody else."

Looks like Binota is aware how fearsome this power is as well. Must have been the results of all his research over the years.
I guess he's not just a blockheaded research guy.

"Let's resume. This 'Power' is naturally rooted to the 'Origin'. Fearing that, the god used their spare energy to bestow blessings upon humanity, a 'Seal' if you may. I believe the vestiges of these 'Blessings' are what afford human the power of magic, which is to say, mana."

Mana. A mystical power that enables people to manipulate the natural phenomena.
I already bore witness to plenty of such phenomena. 'Mana' being the power of god explains how absurd and unbelievable it can get.
Like the potions that healed Griffon, and elven spirit magic.

(And now the topic is finally about me, there's no stopping him now...)

"The power of god can infinitely vary depending on the person. Into the form that fits best. The 'desired form' one wishes for. With these shifting waves acting as a stimulant, mana transforms into phenomena in this world."

The research on mana must be quite advanced. I can tell somehow. Imagination is important for magic.
Mages who can perform cleansing magic are paid handsomely. Cleansing water in sewage plants and such requires some tough imagination day in and out.
I recall a topic Aryl brought up back at commercial city.

(Does the cleansing property get better if they had knowledge on stuff like septic tank, chlorine or microbes? Probably does...)

As it's got nothing to do with me at all, I flung the thought out of my head.
Honestly, I'm already full after hearing all this. I want to escape reality.
But we march on. There's no stopping Binota.

"First let me say one thing about this 'Origin'. I don't want to put you under a wrong impression. This power is not a 'Curse'. Naturally, it is the 'Power' of the sealed god. That is to say, it's a divine power."

(Oh come on, give me a break already. I never asked for this power... My life bar is zero already.)

I'm not 'KO'ed yet, barely hanging on. I'm sure I'll get depressed for a while if Binota still has a shocking information left in store.

"All the Black Clads who wielded this 'Power' went on to carry out many epic feats in multitudes of folklore and tales..."

He gleefully went on to narrate the anecdotes. I'm at my limit.

(I've just pinpointed the existence of 'Factor of Unrest' within me... This is definitely going to be a flag...)

I'm just about done. If this isn't a curse then how do you explain the frequency to which I encountered all those troubles? Why can't you call fate a curse?

(Not a curse? Easy to say when you're not filling the shoes. Only children who read heroic tales think that.)

And speaking of children, there's this Binota who's still passionately and incessantly yapping stuff like how incredulous it all sounds, and how there are sites where the marks remain to this day. Sounds like he still hasn't had enough.

"Mind if I go to the restroom? Where's it? I want a break..."

"Ah, I'm sorry about this. I got all heated up on my own again hehehe..."

Thus we took a break as the maid led me to the restroom.
