523 The Road Traversed
"That's the conclusion I reached after examining everything I've collected so far! It's incredible! I can't believe the person that proves my hypothesis is standing right in front of me now!"
Binota entered his own world like he was done explaining.
He skipped so many steps. Leaving everyone else in the dust is just peak egoism.
"...Eh? What's up with your reaction... Eh? Did I say anything wrong?"
I'm still keeping quiet. I have no word. What am I supposed to comment anyway?
Meanwhile Binota looked like he was all, 'You've got it now, right?'
The warning I initially gave him flew past his head.
I miss the hour I was enjoying tea in this room.
"How do you even get that mindset... Weirdo. This guy's, a weirdo..."
I've never come across anyone as weird. That includes my past life.
Hence, I have no idea how to deal with him. I can just leave him alone but I can't stand this awkward atmosphere.
Normally it'd be easy for me to ignore. But this weirdo has managed to shake me up.
That was when Captain-san threw in a lifesaving float my way.
"You're not getting anything across to your guest. What did I tell you over and over? Don't just get lost in your own little world and explain properly. I lost count how many times I warned you... There's no saving you..."
Captain-san sighed in exasperation.
Binota made an 'oh crap' face and straightened himself before me.
"I beg your pardon. I forgot to give a proper explanation. But I can assert that conclusion is real."
Afterward, Binota carefully chose his words and explained it in a way I can understand.
He read a story about 'Black Clad' by chance.
He was fascinated by all kinds of heroic tales during his childhood but he found this particular tale unusually curious.
That was the impetus for his quest to collect any and all tales, documents and trails pertaining the topic, shifting it from hobby to his lifework. There were even times where he would travel to small villages to track a trail down.
He arrived at that conclusion only recently after compiling every information he had gathered thus far.

And so goes his story thus far.
But he hasn't touched upon the subject of 'Black Clad' yet.
(Well, I get it. This Black Clad must refer to me no? Can't believe he'd go out of his way to collect documents about such a tall tale.)
The desk in front of me is spilling with a stack of paper. Binota brought all these documents. You can no longer disregard it as a tall tale. Not with me existing.
I've got something to tell to Binota who dexterously carried all these documents while giving that lecture.
Can't you direct that dexterity into the ability to read people gestures and the room?
I didn't put it into word yet but I almost couldn't resist to blurt out, 'Are you done yet?'
He's still not getting to the topic about 'Black Clad' even now. He keeps talking about himself, not progressing at all.
Nothing about me yet. I mean I get the importance of taking it one step at a time but I don't need to hear his entire life story.
That said, I suppose this is necessary for him. Best not to poke fun or hurry him up.
Guy wishes to share his hard work. What lies at the end of the road traversed.
"Then what are Black Clads exactly? Let's start from there. They are the original humans created by god. Oh and I'm not talking about the god worshiped by present day people of course. Black Clads are the 'Origin' of humans, made by another god."
Dropping a bombshell out of the blue, Binota is the same as ever I see.
