I swiftly hung the Bearuads on some nearby trees with a rope. It's to drain their blood.
Once I was done with all four, I proceeded to skin them. I cut up the meat, and dissected the entrails as I worked my way.
You gotta be fast with this stuff. If you don't drain the blood properly, the meat will taste awful like blood.
I don't have time to care for the people I saved.
The two escorts stared at me with dumbfounded looks. Seems their attention had shifted from griffon to me.
"Phew... That took care of it. Alright, we're having a bear pot tonight. Gonna sell the skin and some meat. Maybe I can present a portion to the inn and ask for a discount. Oh right, I've got plenty of other stuff to sell as well..."
"U, umm, we're thankful for your assistance... Err?"
I was too focused on sorting out my magic bag I failed to notice the female escort's call.
'Ugu!', the pained groan from the male escort lying on the ground pulled me back to reality.
"How are you feeling? Ah, is that spot... hurting? Hm? Broken ribs? Looks like it's cracked. Hold on a bit."
I approached the male escort who was lying face up. I came to that conclusion when I saw him holding his chest.
Adrenaline rush can help inhibit your pain receptions, but if his broken bones stab his entrails, his life could be in danger.
I sprinkled half of a potion I had left on the man's chest. Then I raised half of his body and made him drink the rest orally.
Then a green light enveloped the man before his pained face turned into that of surprise.
"T-this is, the highest grade potion? E, err! Thank you so much!"

The man leaped and did a jumping dogeza toward me.
The female escort also thanked. But she looked troubled.
"We're thankful for that potion you gave, but... We, um, don't have the money to..."
Oh it's about repaying the potion. It might be a cheap price to pay for one's life, but that amount of money might be a matter of life and death to them.
I don't even know how much it is, nor am I planning to make them pay me back anyway.
"I won't ask you for money. I didn't save you with that in mind. Don't you know? Money is only a price tag attached on objects. You can't put a price tag on life. Aren't you glad you're alive."
I wonder why? I thought I said some real cliched line there yet these two teared up in complete awe. Really?
"Tha... Thank you! Thank you ever so much!"
"What an amazingly kind soul you are... I! I'll do my best to become someone as kind and broad-hearted as you are!"
They're just too pure. Yep, that must be it. Can't think of any other reason.
I inched back at the sudden sparkling eyes the two directed at me. It's disorienting.
These people are older than me. No matter how you look at it. Maybe not 20, but they should be around 18. They're probably mercenaries judging from their equipment. Or perhaps adventurers?
"Y, yeah, go at it. Well then. I'm off. Farewell."
"Kue!" the two got reminded of griffon's existence and straightened themselves up.
I put away the bear mats inside my magic bag and jumped on griffon's back. Griffon immediately flew away, leaving them behind like I was running away.
