Continent 3 Recapture Preparation
I had Gen-san and Julian take care of most of our equipment but I went to the material store's granny at Daijel to process 'Gravity Crystal Core' into an accessory.
That granny is skilled enough to engrave a magic tool that acts as a security for her entire store by herself. Checking her stats showed she got Magic Tool Creation Skill Lv10. Maxed out.
That is to say, she's a national class craftsman on the level of that appraiser old man... Why'd she even work at some small time material shop anyway.
"It's an old lady's pastime. Taking it slow earning and living my life is pretty chic... I've had enough fill of hectic days in my youth. Hihihi."
"I guess a magic craftsman, no, a master magic craftsman like you would be in demand everywhere. I so get you wanting to leave all that hustle bustle behind."
"Hihi, you look like you've gone through a lot despite your age. But still, this thing you brought with you is quite a surprise."
"Can you work on it?"
"Not if I were your average magic craftsman. Won't take long with me on the case. It's gonna cost an arm and a leg, mind, here's the estimate~."
"Lemme see... Wait a minute granny, you sure you didn't put two more zeroes by mistake?"
Seven zeroes after 1... 10 million en, that's the highest cost of anything I've ever bought.
"Hihihi! I'm about the only person who can take a stab on this fantastically rare mat. That number is more than fair considering the technical fee and all the rare ingredients required to process this thing, you understand that yourself, no?"
"...Yeah, it is fair. But we're facing a world crisis and all, can't you give me a discount at least?"
"Nope, no can do. A worthless world that won't even pay an old bag can go to hell for all I care. Hihi!"
"...Got it. I'll make it work somehow, it's on you granny."
"Thanks for your patronage... I'll make it my masterpiece, just you wait. Hihihihi."
Once I gave her the core, granny started making calls with telecommunication magic devices, ordering the materials needed to process it and stuff. She sure gets things done quick.
It's gonna take five days to complete the accessory... Can't say if that's fast or slow.
I've got plans for the fundraising.
I could probably get that much if I sell all the high class equipment made of hihiirokane, orichalcum et al, I got in Daijel's dungeon.
Selling those off to the Anti-demon Amry would both upgrade their firepower and my purse, but I won't hesitate going to another establishment if they told me to make them cheaper or turn them over for free just because it's an emergency.
So yeah, I pawned them off to the army and raised enough funds somehow.
Barely got enough to pay Gen-san and Julian too.
I actually wanted to inflate the prices a bit more, but considering my last run-in with one of their commanders, I opted to avoid adding more frictions and I sold them at market prices.
I don't rip them off but neither will I let them haggle just cause it's an emergency. A worthless world that won't even pay me can go to--
Well then, I'm just about done with the equipment side of things.
Next up, powering up the members of our unit.
Two days until the start of Operation Recapture Continent 3. They've got to learn Mana Control and Energy Control enough to use it on site at least.
Sorry to them but they'll have to taste hell. Ah~ My heart aches for them, I really do~.
The members going with us end up being Hyula-san, Gazanginando-san and Aizawa-kun.
Thanks to Hero-kun's drastic level up from Job Change, the high leveled people got assigned to our group instead.
Hyula-san aside, I'm not too familiar with the other two so the mood is kinda awkward but we don't got enough time to mind about that stuff.
Hyula-san and Gazanginando-san still haven't grasped the basics of Energy and Mana Control, so I have to be spartan.
We're starting a deatmatch-like mock battle at the training ground of Continent 4's royal capital.
The place is equipped with a facility that heals your wound and restores your mana and stamina so you're free to use up your HPMPSP.
Just gotta be careful not to one shot kill.
All three of them are veterans in combat as you'd expect from high level people.
Both Hyula-san and Ganan-san are over Lv70 even, they're one step away from Special Jobs.
They may not be quite at Alma Papa's level but that's only because the frame of reference is a weirdo, they're first class fighters on their own good.
But only if we use the normal standard.
It's hard to count them in the battle against Demon King unless they've stepped in the 'Weirdo' domain which include Alma Papa and co.
"I'll have Ganan-san and Hyula-san learn Energy Control first thing first. Seeing as you cannot even deal damage on me in my base stats with your full powered strikes, you lack firepower."
"Ha, haha, can't believe I'd get called weak in a contest of strength...!"
"Fine by me! Let's see if you can say that again after taking this!?"
Ganan-san activated his Master Skill and swung a giant mana blade at me.
Think he used this move during the tourney. It should work just fine against most opponents, but not against Demon Chief-class and above.
I flicked it away with an Energy Buffed finger despite knowing he might interpret it as a harassment.
I have to get him understand how underpowered he is right now.
"He flicked that away with a finger...!?"
"This is the gap between those who can use Energy Control and those who don't. Please forget about your Skills and all that jazz while you're practicing with me. They are worthless."
"...Geezer said the same stuff back during my training. Ain't no point in those abilities if ya don't even got the basics down or something."
"That's right. I see that Aizawa-kun has got the basics of Energy Control down. Next, I want you to buff localized parts as smoothly as possible."
"Yeah yea. But, ya sure 'bout this? Told you before, I'm gunning for Alma. Why'd you go and help--"
"Rest assured. Merely you learning Mana and Energy Control poses exactly zero issue."
"Hah, oh yeah? I'mma make you eat those words! And quit that polite tone, ya givin' me the heebies!"
Aizawa-kun greatly buffed himself with Energy Control and swung his sword at me.
He's about as strong as my base specs. Good enough to stand on an equal ground with Alma Papa.
He's got the basics. Once he's learned how to do localized buffs, he should be as strong as Alma.
I parried his sword and flicked Aizawa-kun on the forehead with a buffed finger.
"Ggaaaaaaaa!?"
"Alright, that's one death if I wasn't holding back. Guard against attacks you can't dodge with localized buff."
"Are you okay, Alan!? Your head's bleeding!"
"How am I supposed to do that instantly...!"
"You don't have to. It just means you gotta brace for a beating. You're gonna run out of stamina in no time if you keep using full body buff. It's hard I know, keep at it."
"...Did Alma and the girls go through this training too?"
"Nope, I only taught them the basics and they managed to learn localized buffs on their own without my supervision."
"Y, yeah? ...I'll try to get the knacks on that at least."
Hyula-san and Ganan-san still can't control their energy well even now. While Aizawa-kun is at least good enough to use the basic in practice.
Dunno why, but apparently the older and the higher your level, the harder it gets to learn Mana and Energy Control.
Wonder if too high Skills and Attributes hinder direct Controls.
Alma and Reina don't seem to hit a snag even after they raised their levels high, so I guess it only becomes a problem if you don't train while you're still low leveled.
As for the age issue... Maybe young 'uns absorb things faster? Dunno though.
Our mock battle went on for a bit but Aizawa-kun aside, Hyula-san and Ganan-san aren't making any progress.
We're just wasting time at this rate... I've got no choice, I'm gonna make them learn the hard way.
"Hyula-san, Ganan-san, lend me your hands a bit."
"Huff, puff, w, what? ...Hand...?"
"L, like, this...?"
Even these two stamina monsters are losing steam after hours of going all out.
The two listlessly stretched out their arms like they had given up.
Forgive me, you two.
"Thanks, and now I'll pour stamina in your body."
"O, ooh, I do feel something pouring in for sure."
"Alma and the girls did something like this too, but I still can't make heads or tails about my own stamina..."
"Next up, I'll pour in a mix of mana and stamina."
"Uoo!? Something else is mixing in! It feels gross!"
"T-this feeling of something pouring deep inside my body is unsettling."
"Alright, and now I'm converting the mana I circulated into weak electric energy."
"Eh?"
"Wha?"

"Aw aw aw aw!! Hold, hold it! Kajikawa, no seriously stop! Aren't you going overboard aaaaa!!"
"I'm going to gradually spread the electric shock further, so please hurry it up and push it away. The electric shock actually hurts me too. I'm asking you to make it quick, no really, for real."
""You're asking the impossible!!""
They quipped with paralyzed faces thanks to the shock. Looks like they're doing just fine if they can afford that.
Aizawa-kun smiled wryly while staring at us.
Why're you acting like it's not your problem again?
"Gotta praise myself for getting the basics..."
"Ah, Aizawa-kun is good enough with Energy Control but your Mana Control is lacking."
"What, about it...?"
"I'll have you learn that with this method. Thought you might want to know."
"Sorry, an urgent business came up."
"Don't even think about running away. I'll fetch you anywhere even on another continent."
"...Are ya for real...!"
"Gugagagagagaga...!! A, Alan, where'd ya think, yer' goin' dangit...!"
"Ugugugugugwu...!! Y, you're gonna taste this hell too...!! Hahaha, argh ow ow ow ow ow!!"
Knowing no escape, Aizawa-kun put his palm on his face while sighing. I can find you anywhere with Map Screen and Mana Search.
The two look like dead people trying to drag him into the swamp with them. Way too scary.
News to you? There's no escaping my lecture...!!
Afterwards, both Hyula-san and Ganan-san managed to learn Energy Control and Aizawa-kun Mana Control basics somehow or another.
The three are looking at me with vengeful eyes once we were done, but I paid them no heed. Please understand that this was necessary...
Next, we're planning out the operation.
...I should sort out my move afterward as well just in case.
After all, we'll be plunging straight to the final battle immediately after Continent 3 Demon Chief is dead.
