Skill? Nee yo Sonnamon! Chapter 300

Come on Out Planner

I'm on Floor 17 after my fight with Lava Dragon.
This floor is the polar opposite of Floor 16, with freezing temperature. Way beyond the level of air coolers.
Low temperature right after scorching hot one huh. The gimmick is kinda simple~.

The entire floor is covered in frost, hard to move around when you keep sliding on foot.
If only I had skating shoes with me~. No wait, there's traps all over, I'd just get caught in one constantly. Whoever planned this layout shoulda just kick the bucket.
Well, Mana Flight pretty much solves the moving around issue while converting mana into heat keeps the cold away.

The entrance is already below freezing level and it only gets colder the deeper I go.
It's still at a manageable level right now but you'd freeze to death without equipment intended for cold environment. Uuh, it's too cold, let's put on Byakko's coat.
Why did Alma's parents take on this dungeon anyway? They can't use Mana Control too, just how adaptable they are.

Likely due to the cold, I'm running out of breath faster than usual in a way that differs from my trek in lava zone.
I can't dedicate all my mana into heat when I'm fighting magic beasts, it's quite a conundrum.

The traps are all about abnormal status too, such as water spray traps to freeze you faster, venom traps that slow you down and rob your HP, and curse traps that put your senses in disarray.
Ordinary abnormal states don't work on me and my high RES attributes, and even if they do, they get immediately nullified.

Nonetheless, I'm gonna equip earrings that give Abnormal Status Resistance, just to be safe. Ack, I forgot to buy gear that resist brainwashing. I'm so dumb.
I got the girls these earrings too, costing a million en each.
Our savings drastically dropped thanks to this. I know it a necessary expense and all. Ugugu...

Hero-kun's group who had gone through the thing I asked through Chat is currently taking on the 'Ruins of Trials' in order to Job Change.
The trial should be easy to them now, but apparently it'll likely still take them a week to complete.
Wonder how they're doing?

<<Today alone, Leviara has died 6 times, Olivier 4 times and Neo Raifu 23 times during their Cave of Trial run.>>

...K-keep at it, Hero-kun. Don't falter, Hero-kun. You're the hope of this world. Fighto.

~~~~~~~~~~~POV of Hero who has died 23 times today alone~~~~~~~~~~
I'm writhing in agony on top of a respawn magic circle inside the ruins that works like a save point.
...How many time does this make. Feels like I'm about to snap from the stress of dying I can never get used to.
It's awful. This ruins is just awful.
The most awful one being unusable Menu.
I could immediately find traps and see magic beast traits if only I had Menu, but that all is outta the window.
We're currently being made very aware how much more dangerous it gets without Menu.
Dangit, Menu usually goes 『Don't you understand how much I'm supporting you? You're like a good-for-nothing husband who only realized what he's missing after his devoted wife ran back home!』
I could see her looking smug as she says that. Menu looks nothing more than a blue display panel in reality though.
But trying to take on this world without Menu actually is that hard. In all kinds of way. It's crushing.
Even a Floor that looks totally plain and harmless has parts on the floor that looks very subtly different in color that activates lethal traps when you step on them.
On a tilting seesaw-like passage, trying to cheat by using Air Step turns me into a pincushion from needles flying from all directions.
When you try to go around a spot on a Floor where a magic beast is conspicuously standing by, pillars suddenly come crashing down from behind without a sound.
It's full of many more nasty traps.
They're all wickedly lethal traps designed to obviously counter our thought process. Wish the layout planner would drop dead.
I feel like I'm on the verge of breaking down already on day two.
I'd definitely go crazy wailing if Levia and Olivie weren't here.
Those two look like they've had enough of the traps as well, like they're about to pop off anytime.
Though well, I guess this also serves as a training for us, I'm sure things will get better the stronger we are.
Speaking of which, Kajikawa-san is also diving in a dungeon somewhere, isn't he?
He can't bring Alma and the girls since it's dangerous or something. Just where is that I wonder.
Considering it's him, he's probably gonna transform (hentai), cough cough, I mean transform (henshin) into something that makes my Job Changed-self look like a joke... Honestly, that's scary...
"Ah geez! Back to starting line again!"
"Uu... Here I thought I finally got the trap down too..."
Ah, Levia and Olivie respawned too. Guess they died again.
How many times do we have to die, where are they gonna attack us from... We're starting to sound like a boss of madara hair gang... Please end this quick.
~~~~~~~~Hentai, cough, Kajikawa Hikaru's POV~~~~~~~

『Vaaaaaaaaaa!!?』

"Look at this~ It's a piping hot soup~ Good stuff ain't it~ Oh I see, you want more where it's coming from~ Eh, it's so good you're gonna die? That's nice hahahaa~."

『Vagavagagagagagagaavavovovovogoboovoo...!!!』

Floor 17 boss is Lv 88 [Gluttony Yeti], a giant white furred gorilla-like magic beast. I think it's about 5 meter tall.
Similar to the Gluttony Slime that raided Vinfitt, it's capable of taking in some Attributes and Skills of the creatures it devours.

It seemed to have deemed me as prey as it went straight for me while leaving its ape underlings alone.
It's got 3000s base Attributes, slightly higher than Lava Dragon.

But it's not all a bright beast seemingly due to its craving for food.
It's bad at using Skills too. There's no rhyme or reason to its Skill usage beyond randomly using everything it's got. Like casting a pearl before swine.

And every time its stamina is reduced, it predates on its ape underlings.
It went on to eat all its underlings disregarding their screams.

Well, I don't really care either way about that.
I have no interest how it sees its underlings, it's only normal to eat when you're hungry. All the more when they're magic beasts.

That's why I'm making it eat as much as it wants.

I bind the boss gorilla with my mana, force its mouth open and treat it to the magma in my Item Screen to its heart's content.
It even cried from how delicious it was.
It dropped dead from deliciousness by the time I stopped though. RIP.
...I do feel that was kinda mean-spirited of me, but we're talking about a beast who laughed as it devoured its underlings. I have no sympathy.

Now then, we're on to Floor 18, and I'm currently Lv72.
Things are going swimmingly but it's not like I've gone over the projected level.

My Attributes are rising yet there's no drastic difference to before.
The only usable items I got would be Lava Dragon's body and that one nut.
Uumu, will this really help fighting off Demon King... Kinda getting anxious for the future.

Oh, found me another treasure chest. Creak... Wait the heck, it's a mimic! Die!
