564 Seize the Sky
"I suppose I should have a go too. Here I come."
I use it. Acceleration that is. I concentrate hard and get within Balgaranda's spear range.
He's not moving. Of course. I'm in the highest stage of Acceleration right now. Doesn't matter if he's the reigning champion of this city, there is no catching me in this state.
I put the tip of my stick before his chin and undid Acceleration.
"...Fuoo!? ...What's?! ...How did you get in my range... When did it happen?"
I slowly stepped back. With my stick still raised on alert.
"I give up. This is... I don't get it! What kind of move was that! Tell me how you did it! You will right!? I'll do anything I could! Please, teach me will you!?"
Just as I thought. I knew he'd ask.
"Ah, sorry but I can't teach you. Hope you understand."
I denied him coldly. I was sure he was gonna keep pressing but nope.

Balgaranda cooled off right away. I'm relieved he's a man who can be reasoned with.
And just as I thought it would be bow and magic matches next, he declared he was done.
"Appreciate it! That was truly enlightening! Here is your payment. That experience was worth every coin! I hope you are open for another bout next time!"
I was a bit taken aback by the earlier than expected end but I accepted it nonetheless.
"...Yes, that's fine by me. Just make sure you uphold my term."
"Fumu? Your strength far surpasses mine, is it not an utterly easy matter to supplant me as this coliseum's champion? I suppose you have a reason to stay in the dark. I won't inquire further."

"Hahaha! Then be sure you enjoy everything this city has to offer! You could spend months touring this city and you wouldn't have seen everything there is! This place has no shortage of fun spots! I hope you find one to your liking!"
Balgaranda laughed loudly with a refreshing smile.
"If you'll excuse me."
I walked away. The observer looked on with a dumbfounded expression.
Balgaranda stayed on the ring even after I got outside.
"A monster that makes me look like an insignificant speck. Yeah, I don't see myself ever reaching his level no matter how strong I get. It's like trying to seize the sky in your hand."
Only the observer overheard his mutter. It never reached my ear of course.
"Ah, welcome back! What would you like to do now? Should I lead the way to an inn?"
I could finally relax after hearing the guide.
"I'm done tonight. Right, you know an inn with a bathroom?"
Thus I decided.
(Ha~ Still got plenty of stamina left but I'm so mentally drained already.)
I followed the guide to an area full of concrete buildings with blinding lights.
We stopped in front of a building that looks exactly like a high class ryokan you typically see in Japan.
