Kamisama no Kago wo Kyohishitara?! Chapter 571

571 Slice

Some things just don't happen. Wonder who said that?

Media often depict such things like moving so fast reality can't catch up.
Manga, anime, games. AKA fictions.

That kind of physical phenomenon just don't happen in real life. It just doesn't.
Yet, there exists this impossible reality where I got reincarnated in this world.
A world where magic exists. As well as stuff like Enhancing blade sharpness through mysterious crafts like Enchant.

Impossible things in my old world are made possible in this world.
I can't exactly deny the impossibility of this katana's sharpness when I'm living an impossible reincarnate life myself.

(Anything goes I guess? I really should get used to it already. I'm not a scholar, I'm not built to scrutinize difficult problems.)

But I can't help myself questioning phenomenon like this when it took place within my sight.
I stopped myself from saying the line, 'I've sliced yet another boorish thing.'
Nobody else would say that though so I did in my mind. Not out loud.
After all, this world's populace don't get the reference. Would be shocking if they did.
Someone who did must have the same circumstance as me.

As I composed myself inwardly, I stared at the stick I cut, still standing tall.

"Guess I'll add some more. First reverse slash."

I sliced at shoulder length.

"Diagonal slash next."

Sliced diagonally slightly above stomach-length.

"Scooping up, whoopsie."

Another reverse slash at waist length.

"Slid it out near the knee."

From knee length to the ground, slice.

Once the stick was barely holding up, I sheathed my katana.
Balga was staring intensely next to me as I did all that.

"There's a sprawling blue sky when you look above. It's never ending. But you know. Even though I knew there were so many people stronger than me, I never imagined there was one with no horizon in sight like this. I thought I could at least stand next to you if I worked harder, but that sounds like an unachievable dream."

I wasn't in Acceleration when I sliced the stick.
My focus was straddling the line between normal and Accelerated mode though. I made it slow enough to make out all the moves I did, but apparently that's not the case from outside perspective.

"I couldn't see it, y'know? Your slashes. There are enough flames here to light the place. It should have been enough. It's not at all dim. And yet. I focused everything into observing your katana... It did cut the target. Terrifyingly cleanly at that."

Balga picked up the cut parts and observed them.
I offered no comment. After all my body deviates from humanity.
Balga mentioned how he could see no horizon. I mean my body is apparently the house to divine power according to Binota, of course he can't get to this domain. No normal human can.
Even a champion of this city like him is probably like a speck before 'gods'.

What kind of beings could stand next to a god? I guess that would be superhumans.
Speaking of superhumans reminds me of a certain green haired esper who lives forever.

(I can't use ESP though. Would have been nice if I could do stuff like teleportation.)

A staff member came by and cleaned up the garden while I was having that weird thought, signaling the end of this demonstration.
My mind got pulled back to reality and asked Balga.

"Err, are you satisfied now? Let's call it a day, shall we."

Wanting to rest, I made that suggestion to Balga.
